Since most Hydrogen Generators use baking soda or hydroxide as a catalyst, we find these to be the optimum choice over all others available. Inline Check Valves are a necessity when running a dual supply from your Generator System.<br>They ensure that your vacuum supply is pulling from your Generator and not following the path of least resistance and looping from one intake source to the other.<br>Although an Inline Check Valve can reduce the risk of engine backfire igniting the Hydrogen in your Generator system, repeated backfires can burn through the diaphragm of the check valve, rendering it useless as a backfire prevention tool or a one way check valve, leaving no protection from flame passing through the vacuum hose. This is why we strongly urge that you use at least 4 feet of vacuum line as a safety buffer and not just the check valve. We have yet to see a backfire travel the 4 foot distance but have realized it passing through a damaged check valve.
