(1) Trilobite Flexicalymene Retrorsa from Maysville Kentucky.

Description

Trilobite description: Enrolled specimen, with fairly good facial features seen. BOTH eyes are visible. Color is grey to light brown.  Bits of matrix still incased on the specimen on the deeper recesses. NO damage on the specimen. Comes with the perky box and display card. Although I left out a letter on the display card identification. Matrix is mudstone/clay stone mix. COMPLETE name for this specimen, is Flexicalymene Retrorsa
AGE; Upper Ordovician 452 to 445 million years ago. Formation; Unknown  Location; Maysville KY.
Collected by one of the countries most knowledgeable & prolific  trilobite collectors, in the USA, Brendan Carver who stated " Trilobites from this area rarely come over a half an inch".
Dimensions are approx. Length  18.07 mm      Width  20.43 mm  Thickness 7.50 mm    Weight of the specimen only. 2.73 grams
