Obverse:
On the Obverse of the 1826 Italian Sardinian Gold Coins is an effigy of Charles Felix, King of Sardinia. The portrait shows Felix in left-profile relief with no crown on his head. The inscriptions include Car, Felix, D.G. Rex Sar Cyp Et Hier, and 1826. The inscriptions translate as Charles Felix by the Grace of God King of Sardinia, Cyprus, and Jerusalem.
Reverse:
The Reverse field of 1826 80 Lire Italian Sardinian Gold Coins features the House of Savoy coat of arms. This seal includes a central element with the shield of Savoy bearing an eagle. Oak branches form the wreath around the shield with a collar of order below the image of the coat of arms. Inscriptions on this face of the coin include DVX, SAB, GENVAE ET MONTISF, PRINC, PFD. You will also find an inscription of the denomination as L 80.
