Please note that this coin appears shinier and less colorful in hand than the pictures indicate.
In my opinion this coin is a choice AU example of this low mintage key date, and I believe the details visible in the images back up my assessment. However, this coin has a smoothed surface
clearly indicating it has been cleaned
, and that fact must be considered before bidding. Designation of having been cleaned may provide an opportunity for those who have desired a high grade example of this date at a more affordable price, and in my opinion this coin in such a grade without having been cleaned would easily command in excess of ,000.

Though the 2022 Guide Book of United States Coins, a.k.a. the Red Book, values this coin at merely 0 in EF/XF, the value jumps to ,500 in Uncirculated MS (60) and to ,000 in Choice Uncirculated MS (63), which strongly indicates this date to be an exceptional conditional rarity. The Red Book does not show AU valuation for U.S. Philippines coinage, but valuation for conditional rarities typically increase logarithmically for higher grades.
However, such valuations are for uncleaned examples.
