    Description

2001-12 Afghanistan, Land in Crisis, Pakistan – National Geographic Map Poster
After taking power in 1996, Afghanistan's Taliban alienated themselves from every country but Pakistan. Even that relationship has cooled somewhat, but here in 2019, Afghanistan is still a land in crisis, and probably will remain so for years to come.
This is a study as relevant today as it was in 2001
. The map-side is a classic National Geographic cartographic political map of both Pakistan and Afghanistan, with a brief history of the area. The reverse side titled "Afghanistan: Land in Crisis" contains a color-coded relief map of the area with map insets showing the patchwork of ethnic minorities, areas of drought and earthquakes, and the movement of refugees from war. There is also a time-line of the various conflicts from 1838 to 2001, just before the US involvement.
    Map is approximately 31" x 20".
The National Geographic is known for it's fine maps & detailed information.
Supplement to the National Geographic Magazine; magazine is not included.
