This rare Gold Buffalo has been in my personal climate-controlled vault, in an Itercept Shield box, since 2008, and is in perfect condition.

Gold Buffalo Coins are among the most coveted and sought after products produced by the U.S. Mint. Based on the highly popular Type I Buffalo nickel, these coins were reintroduced as the first 24-karat gold proof coin ever struck by the U.S. Mint.
This certified coin is in perfect condition. American Gold Buffalos were first minted by the United States in 2006. Created to compete with international bullion of higher purity, Buffalos are .9999 (24 carat) bullion, as opposed to America's pre-existing Gold Eagle at 91.67% (22 carat).
The design is a rendition of the classic U.S. Buffal Nickel. The obverse showcases a rendition of James Earle Fraser's acclaimed "Buffalo Nickel" design of an American Indian in profile as originally minted in 1913. and on the reverse an American buffalo which is a visual representation of the bison named Black Diamond who, in the early 1900s, lived in the Central Park Zoo in New York City.
