VERY RARE!!!!! 2019 CAN 1-OZ GLD PEACE LIBERTY ULTRA HIGH RELIEF NGC PF70 REV PF FDI (MERC/TAY)This Ultra-High Relief Peace and Liberty Medal is the first ever piece to combine a design by a US Mint engraver, John Mercanti, and a Royal Canadian Mint engraver, Susan Taylor.
Extremely low mintage...Coin #145 Mintage of 200 Tirage.
The medal's release is set to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the end of the first World War, November 11, 2018.
The obverse features a Liberty design by John Mercanti. Liberty holds her torch high as she steps forward toward the future. The torch is wrapped in laurel, a symbol of victory over oppression. In her right hand, she holds two vipers at bay with her sword, symbolizing the holding of evil at bay. Inscriptions on this face include "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "LIBERTAS."
Susan Taylor designed the reverse, where a young woman personifies Peace. The design was inspired by ancient Greek statuary. She dons a crown of maple leaves and olive branches, which symbolize peace, order, and good government. Her Latin name, "PAX," and the date, "2019," is included to the right. A rim inscription at the top reads, "A MARI USQUE AD MARE" (From sea to sea).
Numismatic Guaranty Corporation's (NGC's) experts awarded this coin their highest grade, Proof 70, which means that it is flawless as seen under 5x magnification.
