5 pieces of ephemera related to American military service in Germany, specifically the Army base (Garmisch Military Post and Garmisch Recreation Center) in beautiful Garmisch, Bavaria. One of the best European postings, the Garmisch base was established in 1946 and was home to the US Russian School, with a NATO school in nearby Oberammergau. This group from a soldier stationed there in the 1950s:
1) Enjoy Your Own United States Army Europe Leave and Rest Center, with photographs, folds out to poster size, very good.
2) Ambassadors All, Dept of the Army Pamphlet, May 1952, tells how to behave while in Europe. Age toning, very good.
3) This Week in Berchtesgaden, 13-19 June 1959, bowling, tours, movies, music, cocktail revue.
