  • Fossil trilobite; Encrinurids: Lower Ordoivician, Baoshan, China.

    Description

Offered is a small (1cm) but sharply preserved and prone example of an elegant Encrinurid with affinity to
    Sinocybele
sp. from the Lower Ordovician Llanvirn Series (Dariwillian) of Baoshan, China.
With all of the sinuous thoracic pleural spines intact, this crisp specimen has retained good relief, and has minimal surface erosion to the cephalon. This is one of a plexus of occulate and eyeless Encrinurids occuring at this famous site. The pygidium appears to be absent, but several moulted tergites of a dioinidid species occur also in the matrix, which is approx. 3cm X 5cm X 2cm.
Great price for such a sharply preserved example of this occulate species.............
