    Description

    Name:   Wanneria walcottana (2)
    Age:  Lower Cambrian
    Formation:  Kinzers Formation
Location:  Long Farm site, Neffsville, Pennsylvania
Size:  Plate is over 8 inches tall!
This is a very rare multiple example of a very OLD US trilobite. It is a classic pair of uncommon Wanneria walcottana from the Lower Cambrian of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. This interesting specimen was found at the Long Farm site, a locality that hasn't been collected since the 1980's! Wanneria are usually solitary animals - multiple plates are extremely unusual. Both distinct trilobites are complete and very well articulated. Both striking bugs have good detail preserved and have nice, natural orange-brown color displayed. The ancient arthropods are well showcased on the large plate of Kinzers Shale - natural, no compositing! This is an ultra rare fossil with two complete Lower Cambrian Wanneria walcottana from a very obscure locality in Pennsylvania.
