This is a top quality specimen of Calymene niagarensis from the Rochester Shale of New York State. This ancient arthropod is wonderfully prone and very well preserved. The striking bug is very inflated and 3-D and exhibits fine detail. Both free cheeks are present and well displayed on this specimen, which is somewhat unusual for this type. The distinct trilobite has great natural color and contrast and is well showcased on the semi-squared plate of Rochester Shale. This is a very collectible specimen of Calymene niagarensis from the Sillurian of New York.
