This is a very nice enrolled trilobite. It is a large Eldredgeops rana crassituberculata from Paulding, Ohio. This tightly enrolled specimen is nicely inflated and exhibits very fine detail. The thick shell exoskeleton and both compound faceted eyes are wonderfully intact. The chocolate-brown coloration is both striking and fully natural. The bug is well displayed on the edge of a substantial piece of Silica Shale. This is a great display example of an enrolled Eldredgeops crassi from this classic US locality.
