This is a beautiful plate of classic US trilobites. They are enrolled Isotelus maximus and Flexicalymene retrorsa from Ohio. Isotelus trilobites are some of the most recognizable trilobites in the world, some have been found that were well OVER A FOOT LONG! This type of trilobite has also been officially named the ''State Fossil of Ohio''. This striking Isotelus is tightly enrolled and displays beautifully. The head is present, but can only be viewed in side view (see photo #3). The Isotelus shares the plate of shale with an enrolled  Flexicalymene, a nice association piece. This is a very nice enrolled Isotelus maximus trilobite with a Flexicalymene also present.
