This is a beautifully prepared trilobite. It is a top quality Cyphaspis from Morocco. This impressive specimen has been meticulously prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab. This distinct type of trilobite has a huge, bulbous glabella, long genal spines, and a LONG axial spine -
both genal spines and the axial spine have been wonderfully prepared in a free-standing manner on this specimen!
The breathtaking bug also has very nice stalked eyes. And there are bumps and pustules preserved on the cephalon. The grey-black fossil contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. The striking trilobite is beautifully showcased on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a spectacular display example of this spiny Moroccan Cyphaspis, prepared here in the USA.
