This is a very unusual fossil. This is a rare Reptaria stolonifera bryozoan on Orthocone from the Skaneateles Formation of New York. This rare fossil has very nice form and exhibits extremely fine detail - the jigsaw-blade features are very easily seen. The striking fossil has nice natural color and contrast and is quite 3-D. This is a very cool specimen of this distinct Middle Devonian fossil association from an unusual site.
