This is an extremely rare pair of Mississippian trilobites. These are Ameropiltonia lauradanae from the Mississippian of Missouri. This genus of trilobite has many pustules exhibited over the entire exoskeleton. There are two distinct, outstretched examples on the plate - both are complete with all free cheeks tightly attached. The prone bugs are well preserved, showcasing the fine ornamentation beautifully. The grey-brown color of the trilobites contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The striking trilobites are well showcased on the semi-rectangular matrix plate that also contains a crinoid part. This is a very nice double display plate of this highly uncommon trilobite from the Mississippian.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS.com is included with this specimen.
