Offered here are 3 beautifully prepared, pyritized brachiopods from the Waldron Shale Formation from Blue Springs Quarry (filled with water) in Waldron, Indiana, Silurian in age. The brachiopod on the left measure 1/

” wide
. The matrix measures 2 5/8” x 1 5/8”.
The middle brachiopod measures

” wide and is full of pyrite crystals. The matrix measures 2” x 1

”. As you can see from the pictures, the brachiopods are nicely articulated and all are pyritized. This beautiful piece was found about 20 years ago during the time we had a lease on part of the old Blue Springs Quarry outside Waldron, Indiana. The quarry is full of water and is in a legal battle.
