Offered here is a beautifully prepared black Platyostoma plebium gastropod from the Waldron Shale Formation from Blue Springs Quarry (filled with water) in Waldron, Indiana, Silurian in age. The gastropod measures almost 1 1/

” wide and is highly inflated. The matrix measures 3 1/

”. As you can see from the pictures, the gastropod is nicely articulated and preserved beautifully black. This beautiful piece was found about 20 years ago during the time we had a lease on part of the old Blue Springs Quarry outside Waldron, Indiana. The quarry is full of water and is in a legal battle.
