Description
My husband, who is a woodworker, made this wall-mounted jewelry and/or vanity wall cabinet from scrap wood from a huge walnut tree felled in Clay County, Kansas, approximately 40-50 years ago. The tree was sawed into lumber at a sawmill in Oldsburg. After we had our bathroom renovated about 10 years ago, there was no available wall space for it.It's a unique piece. I liked it because I could hang my silver and gold chains on the pegs to prevent them from becoming tangled. The little shelves worked well for small containers of perfume and/or essential.oils....as well as makeup in small containers. Notice that the little shelves have facia that extend above the level of the shelves to prevent small bottles or jewelry from falling off.
In these times, not many wood items (cabinets and/or furniture) are made of solid wood, and walnut usually is considered somewhat elite. Because the history of this wood is known, it has sentimental and regional value also.
Measurements: 13-1/4" x 18" x 4-3/4" deep. It has an open back, which makes the wall it's attached to serve as the back. Because of this style, it's
lighter weight.
