Philippines - 1936 Silver Peso (Roosevelt & Quezon)

Description

KM-177 Silver Peso 1936 in VF+ condition. Has been sea-salvaged so it shows the effects of saltwater immersion, dark areas, scale, porosity and some metal loss. The story goes that many coins were dumped into Manila Bay to prevent seizure by the invading Japanese forces during WWII. Later they were retrieved and harshly cleaned. These are more likely than not found sea-salvaged. A very popular issue. Should be a solid value at our reasonable opening bid that includes postage.
