After the American conquest of the Philippines in 1898, the currency was reorganized and a new peso was struck in Philadelphia and San Francisco for the Philippines in 1903-06. These coins were reduced from 26.95 grams to 20 grams in 1907 and issued in that form until 1912, after which no silver pesos were struck until the commemorative issues of 1936 celebrating the new commonwealth.
These coins are listed in the Red Book as well as the SCWC and are collected as part of the United States series.
Item is in almost uncirculated/extra fine condition.
