Rare fragments of giant Eurypterid Slimonia acuminata M. Silurian, Wenlock UK

Offered, from a redundant teaching collection, is a rare and well preserved item for the specialist collector: two fragments of the classic UK Eurypterid
Slimonia acuminata
(Salter), from the Middle Silurian; Wenlock Series, Priesthill Group; Dunside Fm., from the north side of Grouse Hill, Lesmahagow.
The two fragments measure 6.5cm X 4cm and 4cm X 4.5cm and are segments from the abdomen. Each shows fine venulose surface detail and minute punctae. This species was the largest eurypterid in this classic fauna.
Matrix approx. 9cm X 11.5cm X 1.5cm (weight 0.35kg)
No reserve for a classic species from a world famous site..............
