    Description

    This well-preserved specimen of
    Kainops invius
is still attached to its original matrix. The trilobite is from the Cravat Member of the Bois d' Arc formation, near Clarita, Oklahoma. It is approximately 400 million years old (Lower Devonian, Helderbergian).
This beautifully preserved trilobite is similar to
    Phacops
except it has a longer glabella and it is similar to
    Paciphacops
but has more eye facets. The schizochroal eye lenses have been well-prepped out and are well-preserved in both eyes. The bug measures 1.45 inches long  (if straightened- the bug is arched over the matrix) and 0.65 inches wide. Matrix and trilobite measure 1.0 by 0.75 by 1.3 inches.
