    Description

This is a well-preserved  Middle Devonian trilobite,
    Leonaspis sp.
, from the Tahajarat Formation, Oufatene in Morocco.
The body of the trilobite is 0.99 inches long (does not include the length of the spines) and 0.77 inches wide. The entire specimen, matrix and trilobite, measures 3.0 inches long, 3.3 inches wide and 1.1 inches high. Holochroal lenses are present in both eyes.
There is a repair running in front of the left eye and across the top of the thorax and another on the tip of the left genal spine . In the trilobite -collecting world this is not a detriment. Trilobites are found by smashing open rocks and the specimens often get broken as a result. It is rare to find an entire, unbroken trilobite. And if one is found, they usually are sold for a premium amount. Many sellers do not disclose that their fossils have been repaired as the repair is often very well done, and virtually undetectable. I believe in full disclosure.
All of my fossils are authentic and have been legally obtained.
