    Description

This is a magnificent trilobite specimen of
    Pedinopariops (Hypsipariops) vagabundus
    , from Morocco.
    Pedinopariops
resembles a large Phacops or a small Drotops, and lived during the Middle Devonian.  The eyes have extremely well-preserved schizochroal lenses and the tubercules on the cephalon are pronounced.
The specimen is approximately 3.1 inches (if flattened- its 'tail' is tucked down, but still visible) and 1.66 inches wide. The matrix and trilobite measure 3.2 inches long, 4.1 inches wide and 2.22 inches high.
The trilobite has been repaired under the right eye and across the thorax. In the trilobite-collecting world this is not a detriment. Trilobites are found by smashing open rocks and the specimens often get broken as a result. It is rare to find an entire, unbroken trilobite. And if one is found, they usually are sold for a premium amount. Many sellers do not disclose that their fossils have been repaired as the repair is often very well done, and virtually undetectable. I believe in full disclosure.
All of my fossils are guaranteed authentic and have been legally obtained.
