Trilobite Fossil, Scabriscutellum sp, from Morocco #3

Description

This is a Middle Devonian trilobite,
Scabriscutellum sp
, from Morocco.
The fossil measures 1.9 inches long  (if flattened) and 1.1 inches wide. The entire specimen, matrix and trilobite, measures 2.77 inches long, 2.1 inches 65 inches high. The specimen is extremely well-preserved with the terraces (lines) on the pygidium clearly evident and incredibly well-preserved holochroal lenses are present in both eyes.
There is repair running through the cephalon and behind the right eye. In the trilobite-collecting world this is not a detriment. Trilobites are found by smashing open rocks- and the specimens often get broken as a result. It is rare to find an entire, unbroken trilobite. And if one is found, they usually are sold for a premium amount. Many sellers do not disclose that their fossils have been repaired as the repair is often very well done, and virtually undetectable. I believe in full disclosure.
