Trilobite-Enrolled Waldron Shale Calymene under root system-Fossils Crinoid

Offered here is a beautifully
prepared, enrolled
Calymene breviceps trilobite f
ound under a Eucalyptocrinites crassus root system
from the Waldron Shale Formation from Blue Springs Quarry (filled with water) in Waldron, Indiana, Silurian in age. The trilobite measures
7/8” wide
and is slightly compressed.
The matrix measures
6 1/4”

”. As you can see from the pictures, the trilobite is nicely articulated and
seemed to be hiding underneath the root system.
This beautiful piece was found about 20 years ago during the time we had a lease on part of the old Blue Springs Quarry outside Waldron, Indiana. The quarry is full of water and is in a legal battle.
