Trilobite-Sweet Pro Prep Prone Waldron Shale Calymene-Fossils Crinoid

Description

Offered here is a beautifully prepared, prone, (tail tucked under) Calymene breviceps trilobite from the Waldron Shale Formation from Blue Springs Quarry (filled with water) in Waldron, Indiana, Silurian in age. The trilobite measures almost 1 5/8” long (would be close to 1 7/8” if totally prone, huge) and has been almost totally prepared free of matrix. As you can see from the pictures, the trilobite has beautiful shell coloration. Both cheeks are present and tight, but one is slightly pushed in a bit.
There is some slight separation in the middle due to compression when fossilized.
This beautiful piece was found about 20 years ago during the time we had a lease on part of the old Blue Springs Quarry outside Waldron, Indiana. The quarry is full of water and is in a legal battle.
