Trilobite-Waldron Shale Lichid Hypostome Mouthplate-Fossils Crinoid

Offered here is a beautifully prepared and rare Lichid hypostome (mouth plate) from the Waldron Shale Formation from Blue Springs Quarry (filled with water) in Waldron, Indiana, Silurian in age. The trilobite mouth plate measures 1” wide and has a beautiful caramel color. The matrix measures 3 1/8” x 3”. It either comes from an Arctinurus or Metopolichas. As you can see from the pictures, the hypostome has some slight weathering, but still displays beautifully. This beautiful piece was found about 20 years ago during the time we had a lease on part of the old Blue Springs Quarry outside Waldron, Indiana. The quarry is full of water and is in a legal battle.
