    Description

The French army during the Hundred Years ' War consisted of heavily armed soldiers and light infantry. The first category included horsemen in full armor, the second-mostly archers, crossbowmen and sergeants. Throughout the fourteenth century, the crossbowmen – among whom the Genoese mercenaries were the best-were always at the forefront of the formation, as their main task was to fight the English archers. In combat, infantrymen usually wore brigantine armor, various kinds of shields, as well as bascinets or chapels to protect the head. The set consists of 43 unpainted soldiers.
